Counties or geographical areas made up of one or a number of neighbouring towns may put themselves forward as areas of artisanal interest. These areas must either be actively involved in one particular craft activity or, more exceptionally, there may be a concentration of workshops in the same area that specialize in different crafts.
Areas that are declared to be of artisanal interest will be able to use a distinctive label on their products that accredits them as such. A design for this label may be submitted by competent authorities in the area. This design must then be approved by the Artesania de Catalunya Committee.
